I'll be taking my youngest son Travis on vacation for a few days, so I won't be
answering e-mail until next week. See me in Disney World!

Happy Independence Day to all. As we take time off today to enjoy family and friends
let us remember also the birth of our nation and all who have sacrificed to keep us
free.
ALSO, The lunch menu is now on this website here.

Okay, it's the summer doldrums.
No doubt about it. There are three
real Sci Fi nerds here too. Myself,
Shawn and Anna. We've been following
Battlestar Galactica on the Sci fi
channel. It's the re-imagined series
by Ron Moore and it just may be the
best television ever. Unfortunately,
it's in the mid season hiatus now in its
fourth and final season and it has left us
with a cliff hanger... who is the fifth and
final Cylon? We all have our theories, but
at her recent birthday party we discovered...
Anna seems to be the one!

Well, here we go. Fay is on
the way. This latest projection
takes her a bit west of us, so
plans right now have us
setting up for a normal
weekend and Monday.
That's not to say we haven't
prepared, but we remain
cautiously optimistic that this
one gently brushes us.
Nevertheless, we all
remember what Wilma did to
us in 2005.
Stay tuned...

Here's Fay, courtesy of
Accuweather. We're open
tonight, and planning on
being open Tuesday. The
question is, which of our
suppliers are running
trucks on Tuesday. Kinda
rainy right now and the
radar image here shows
rain bands approaching
with a clear area that
should be over us around
the dinner hour.
We're running a reduced
crew, i never require
people here to work if
they'd rather hunker down,
so come on in and see the
volunteers!

The tropical storm event is over for
us in South Florida. Fay looks like
she will hang around the central and
northern part of the state for a few
days, though. Actually, that's a good
thing. Lake Okeechobee needs the
water and north of the lake all the
drainage into it will get filled.
We're open today regular hours, and
expect to see a good turnout of folks
suffering from the early stages of
cabin fever.
All this rain... I was just out in the
yard. I'm going to have to fire up the
mower when the grass dries out...

Congratulations to Tracy (on
right in photo)! She just found
out she is going to join our two
other servers who are expecting.
Congrats to Kristen and
Cassandra too! Kristen is
actually working on baby
number two. And Lauren's little
girl, Jordyn, just celebrated her
first birthday.
So I've been thinking... has
anyone at some university done
a study on the relationship of
regular catfish consumption and
fertility?
Maybe they should.

Well, we finally have both
candidates matched up with
running mates. The big surprise
has been Sarah Palin for VP. I
don't know about anyone else, but
it reminds me of that TV show
from the 90s, Northern Exposure.
Were you ever a fan of Northern
Exposure?
If you were, you probably fell in
love with Maggie O'Connell,
(played by Janine Turner) but
when the series ended we all kinda
lost track of her life.
And now... we come to find... she
became Alaska's governor and will
shortly be the first female Vice
President!!!
Ahhh, O'Connell... Way to go,
sweetheart. Where is Fleishman
now? And you fixed the jinx on
boyfriends too... Todd looks quite
the survivor.
